Homemade Pasta Recipe
Hands down, pasta is my all-time favorite dish, and it is for many of us. There is nothing better than having fresh homemade pasta from a quaint neighborhood Italian restaurant.
When you find that restaurant, they keep you for life.
What if I told you that you could make heavenly delicious homemade pasta at home.
Homemade fresh pasta has a divinely smooth texture. The flavor is by far unbeatable, and it is relatively simple to make.
You don’t have to have special equipment, like a pasta roller or a heavy-duty mixer.
A pasta roller attachment for a heavy-duty mixer will take care of the task lickety-split.
My advice to anyone who loves to cook or bake is to spoil yourself a bit and invest in a heavy-duty stand mixer.
I have had my KitchenAid Mixer for 30 years. She has been through thick and thin with our family and is the absolute best small kitchen appliance I own. Through the years I have purchased many attachments, with the latest being the Kitchenaid pasta roller attachment. Between the ease of pasta making with pasta roller attachment and the heavenly delicious homemade pasta recipe my Aunt Lynda passed on to me, my Sturgy has gone from, “ I don’t want to eat pasta”, to “hey, do we have what we need to make homemade pasta?” He has even started to make it himself! Can you believe this? My husband and I are competing for alone time in the kitchen!!!
I can tell you that my family loves this homemade pasta recipe. We have made ravioli, linguine, fettuccine, and spaghetti. Our 20 something nieces were visiting us and asked, “..please, can we make pasta?" We did, and they loved it. They could not get over how easy it was and how using the Kitchenaid pasta roller attachment took all the heavy lifting away.
As an added benefit to the Kitchenaid pasta roller attachment, you can easily use it for fondant and chocolate modeling clay.
For Gluten-free homemade pasta, check out page 108 in the "Gluten-Free Italian Vegetarian Kitchen" cookbook by Donna Klein.
I highly recommend this cookbook. Author Donna Klein does such an amazing job breaking down the science of gluten-free, vegetarian Italian meals, there is nothing I would change.
