Born in Taiwan, Chef Ingrid is a professionally trained, renowned chocolatier and owner of Aurora Chocolates in Anchorage, Alaska. She emigrated to the U.S. in 2005 to California creating many memories of cooking with her mom. The opportunity to train in the culinary arts arose after she married, and thank goodness she did. Her career began in Beverly Hills at the luxurious Hotel SLS. It was here she had the opportunity to fine-tune her skills and perfect her art under world-renowned chocolatiers. Soon after with her husband, they would pack up and move to Anchorage, Alaska, where he could find work, and she decided to open her own shop. One fabulous night right above her shop, she saw the most spectacular view of the Northern Lights and decided to recreate that in chocolate. Born was Aurora Chocolate bonbons.
Her talent is extraordinary, and her love of the art of chocolate shines through in her personal creation, the Aurora Chocolate bonbons. Each one is hand-painted, with no sugar coating, no glazing. Just pure art, hand-painting colored cocoa butter, imported from Switzerland, layering each color to create a confection like no other. Her creations bring to life the Aurora Borealis in delicious and intriguing flavors.
